Slings that are sewn onto the main line to secure the backup without tape.
WARNING: this product requires the accompanying purchase of any LONGLINE WEBBING.
Choose the option same or greater than your webbing length. E.g. 125 m if your line is 120 m long.
For years we have been wondering how to solve a common issue of all highliners: every time we want to connect the back line to the main line we are forced to waste a lot of tape, which seemed to be the only possible solution.
Now the innovative TAPELESS technology is available!
You can now connect your main line and back up with a thin cord and a simple shoe knot.
Finally eliminate tape in your set up and free the environment from all the wasted tapes flying off or lost in nature.
The TAPELESS has been extensively tested, also using combinations of irregular distances between 3 and 5 metres along the length of the line to reduce the resonance created by the wind, until we found the ideal combination for each line length (50, 75, 100, 125 etc).
As the distances vary according to your line length, it is important that you select from the options a length equal to, or greater than the length of your line.
E.g.: If your line length is 80 m, choose option 100 m. If your line length is 160 m, choose option 175 m.
The system applies an automatic discount that increases with the length of the line purchased.
We recommend a shoelace knot (the same knot you use to tie your shoelaces) and just pay attention of keeping the size of the loops very small inside the knot.
In the case of a permanent line or trick-highline, we recommend a double shoelace knot instead, to ensure permanent resistance even if repeated stress may occure.
The 2.5 mm TAPELESS rope has a very high resistance to abrasion. This choice was crucial because it became clear during the tests that the sliding of the back up does not damage the webbing (moving part) at all, but strongly affects the rope (static part). Only this rope withstood a permanent rig test of more than 6 months. All other ropes tested failed through abrasion and got cut.
The back up webbing is not subject to abrasion as it is the part that moves and does not suffer friction on one single point.
The TAPELESS ropes are all sewn to the back side of the main line to give you a free surface for your walk.
In addition, the leash ring can slide freely and even in the event of a leash fall, no special stress is placed on the main line.
All TAPELESS sewings have no impact on the breaking strength of your webbing, so the values of your webbing's manufacturer data sheet remains valid.
The small size of only 2.5 mm diameter of the TAPELESS rope allows it to pass smoothly inside the WEBLOCK for webbing ravelling.
Yes, you can, as long as you follow the instructions on this page regarding the minimum requirements for checking the integrity of your webbing.
If you have any doubts, do not hesitate to contact us with specific questions.
Warning
We can only accept orders for webbing with lengths equal to or less than those indicated in the options.
E.g. it is not possible to order 50 m of TAPELESS for an 80 m line as the sewing pattern has been specially designed on the multiples indicated on the page. We ask you not to send special requests outside the proposed standard. Thank you.
