BACKUP EXTENDER FOR SPLIT TECHNOLOGY
These extenders are meant to be used in combination with our SPLIT TECHNOLOGY. Customize here your backup EXTENDER:
- DYNEEMA rope 8 mm - 36 kN: only 25 gr./m and it can also be used as an ultra light sling;
- Polyester webbing PLASMA - 42 kN: 76 gr./m, very strong with 2 eye loops at the ends.
Adjust your backup length. We advice to use a medium stretch webbing 6% at 10 kN to select:
- 3 m: for SPLIT 50 m;
- 5 m: for SPLIT 100 m.

Backup EXTENDER in SPLIT TECHNOLOGY
Our SPLIT TECHNOLOGY allows you to divide highlines by connecting regularly the backup to the mainline. This reduces the height of a fall in case of a potential incident.
The technology also makes it possible to distribute a complete highline setup into many different, seperated backpacks.
The true SPLIT TECHNOLOGY
To create a complete SPLIT TECHNOLOGY we recommend to add to your BACKUP EXTENDER:
A new standard for highlining, SPLIT50 and SPLIT100
Thanks to the SPLIT TECHNOLOGY, you will always use the sames lenghts of webbing strands: 50 or 100 m whatever they are used as mainline or backup.
The Polyester webbing PLASMA EXTENDER is available in lengths of 3, 5 or 7 m.
The DYNEEMA ROPE EXTENDER is available in lenghts of 3 or 5 m and can be divided by two, simply fold it in half. So you can have lengths of: 5/2,5 m or 3/1.5 m.
Is 3 meter EXTENDER good for my NYLOVE webbing SPLIT50?
3 m EXTENDER is equal to 6% of 50 m and this is not enough for a NYLOVE backup. The right choice would be a 5 m EXTENDER for a SPLIT50 with a NYLOVE backup.
Dynamic lines move in length with time. The mainline will become longer due to tension and the backup line will become shorter due to no tension.
If this happens, with the SPLIT TECHNOLOGY, you can simply switch main and backup in order to always have the backup longer than the main.
