SPLICED Design: lightweight and compact for superior comfort
The SPLICED Highline leash features a rope spliced around the HIGHRING, padded by DONUT, offering a design that is lighter than traditional double fig-8 knot leashes and preventing the tail whip commonly associated with knots.
This compact design uses a 14 mm diameter rope that is extremely flexible, easy to tie and untie, enhancing comfort during your highlining sessions.
With a strength of 54 kN on the spliced side and 25 kN on the fig-8 knot side, this leash will never fail.
Freedom from shaking
Unlike standard leash rings tied with heavy fig-8 knots, the SPLICED leash saves more than 50 grams and 95 cm of rope on the ring side, ensuring you won't feel it shaking behind your ankles during use.
The entire setup weighs only 463 grams, including the ring and donut.
Isn't 240 cm too short?
At 240 cm, this leash is equivalent to a classic 335 cm leash, as the fig-8 knot ring connection requires 95 cm of rope.
For those who prefer a longer leash, consider tying it in with a yosemite bowline knot to save up to 25 cm compare to fig-8 knot. And remember to always ask for a buddy check before each run on the line.
Partner check and warnings
Be sure to read the user manual and perform a buddy check before every session. Suggested checks:
- the SPLICED Leash is in perfect condition, with no signs of wear;
- the harness is properly closed;
- the fig-8 knot has been correctly tied to the harness;
- the ring is correctly inserted to the highline;
- the knots have sufficient leftover rope (tail), minimum 12 cm.
Remember that SPLICED leash is not a personal protective equipment (PPE). Never use this device without an experienced highliner who supervises you and takes sufficient precautions and safety measures. Slacklining and especially Highlining do not have any standards in law yet. For this reason all manufacturers, including ourselves, have the duty to declare officially these products as not suitable for Highlining
Transport, storage and lifespan
Remember to always keep your SPLICED leash far from sharp objects; store it in a dry place and away from direct sunlight, avoid contact with acids or solvents. In case of contact with salt, wash it with clean water. Always undo all tied knots during storing your SPLICED leash.
Under normal use conditions, the LEASH follows a lifespan limit of 10 years, but life is significantly reduced on the basis of: exposure to UV rays, salt, ice and contact with chemical agents.
In the event of neat abrasion marks, cuts or deformations, the product must be immediately replaced, therefore its life can be reduced to a single use. The rings must always maintain their original shape without deformation, cracks or sign of wear. Contact us for any clarification needed.
